This example comes from the 'Virtual laboratory' section of the course. In this area, students complete a wide range of experiments as they might in a real-time course. The key advantage of the virtual lab is that experiments which are not possible in the real world because they are too dangerous or too expensive can be repeated as often as necessary. In this example, a brass rod is connected in series with a thermocouple & meter. The glass flask is first heated to boiling point & then students apply heat to the rod. By recording their observations on the worksheets provided in the course, they effectively prove one of the themocouple laws.
